Cart Favicon Badge ("the App") is a Shopify application that displays the number of items in a customer's shopping cart as a badge on the browser tab favicon.

What Data We Collect

The App collects minimal data required for operation:

• Shopify session data — Standard OAuth tokens used to authenticate the app with your Shopify store. This is required by Shopify for all apps.
• Cart item count — The App reads the public /cart.js endpoint on your storefront to get the number of items in a visitor's cart. This data is processed entirely in the visitor's browser and is never sent to our servers.

What Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect personal information from your customers
• We do not collect email addresses, names, or payment information
• We do not track customer behavior or browsing history
• We do not use cookies or analytics trackers
• We do not sell, share, or transfer any data to third parties

How the App Works

Cart Favicon Badge operates entirely in the visitor's browser using a Theme App Extension (App Embed block). It reads the cart item count from Shopify's public storefront API and draws a badge on the favicon using the HTML5 Canvas API. No data leaves the visitor's browser.

Data Storage

The only data stored on our servers is the Shopify session information (OAuth tokens) required to keep the app installed and authenticated. This data is stored securely and is automatically deleted when the app is uninstalled.

GDPR Compliance

The App complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and supports the following Shopify-mandated webhooks:

• Customer data request — Since we do not store customer data, we confirm that no data is available.
• Customer data erasure — Since we do not store customer data, no action is needed.
• Shop data erasure — When an app is uninstalled, all session data is deleted.

CCPA Compliance

The App does not collect, sell, or share personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
